What is a Mesh Banner?
A Mesh Banner – often referred to as a mesh tarpaulin – is a perforated advertising tarpaulin or a perforated flag fabric with a wind-permeable hole structure. This hole structure allows wind and light to pass through while keeping the print motif clear and vibrant. Unlike closed PVC tarpaulins, a Mesh Banner does not act like a sail: The wind is channeled through the material. The result is a lower load on the material and thus a longer lifespan of your advertising surface.
Why a Mesh Banner?
A Mesh Banner is the first choice when wind load, safety, and durability matter. The perforated structure reduces wind load by up to 40% and relieves the banner and fastening. Our Mesh Banners are UV-resistant, weatherproof, and suitable for long-term outdoor use, ensuring that your advertising message remains visible for a long time.

The variants PVC Mesh Standard, PVC Mesh Premium and Velum Flag Mesh also meet the requirements of B1 fire protection according to DIN 4102 and can therefore also be used indoors or at events with fire protection regulations. Depending on the material, the service life ranges from one to five years. Thanks to their light permeability, mesh banners are also suitable wherever complete privacy is not desired, such as at windows, facades, or stages. Due to their lighter weight compared to solid PVC tarpaulins, they are also easier to install and handle.
Where are mesh banners used?
Mesh banners show their strengths in large, wind-exposed advertising spaces. At construction sites, they serve as advertising space, privacy screens, or construction information on construction fences. They are used as facade banners on scaffolding and facades. Mesh banners are particularly frequently used on high-rise buildings and structures, as strong wind forces act at great heights. In stadiums, arenas, and sports facilities, mesh banners serve as advertising boards, fence coverings, or sponsor areas.
At open-air festivals, concerts, and events, they are used as large-format motif carriers, signposts, or stage backgrounds, wherever gusts are common and conventional tarpaulins reach their limits. Mesh banners also prove themselves on bridges, parking garages, and in outdoor areas when long-term outdoor advertising must withstand changing weather conditions. For large-format flags and banners on masts in windy regions, such as coasts or open areas, a mesh flag fabric is the right choice. Mesh banners are also frequently used as scaffolding banners .
Our mesh banners at a glance
In our category of mesh banners, you will find various materials for different applications – from the classic PVC mesh for durable outdoor advertising to the PVC-free alternative and the wind-permeable Velum Flag Mesh for large-format applications.
Which mesh banner is suitable for your application?
Which mesh banner is right depends on the application area and the desired duration of use.
PVC Mesh Standard is suitable for construction fences, events, and short-term campaigns. The material is lightweight, flexible, and economical for temporary outdoor advertising.
PVC Mesh Premium is recommended for long-term facade advertising or large installations. The denser fabric ensures a longer service life and a stable advertising surface.
Mesh – PVC-free is the sustainable alternative for temporary campaigns, trade fairs, or indoor advertising. The polyester fabric is lightweight and recyclable.
Velum Flag Mesh is particularly suitable for flags, great heights, or windy regions. The perforated flag fabric significantly reduces wind load.
Mesh banners or PVC banners – when to use which material?
Mesh banners are the right choice when wind meets large advertising surfaces. The perforated structure reduces wind load and keeps the banner securely attached. Solid PVC banners are suitable for wind-protected areas. They offer a solid surface and particularly vibrant colors. When banners are used on construction fences, facades, or at great heights, mesh banners are usually the more stable solution.
