The simplicity of the material regarding the choice of substrate, as well as the low shipping costs of rolled film sheets, and not least the quick processing are advantages that speak for the use of films in various situations. As a logical consequence, the product has been further developed in different directions and adapted to a variety of requirements. Today, in addition to the conventional, well-known adhesive films, there are also specialty films for application on illuminated surfaces, magnetic films, and adhesion films that work completely without glue and can be removed without leaving traces.

Translucent adhesive film

The translucent adhesive film is a high-quality polymer PVC film with an adhesive coating for application on light boxes and illuminated displays. Thanks to its long service life of up to seven years, the film is suitable for permanent bonding. In the dark, the translucent adhesive film shines in brilliant, rich colors due to backlighting. The specialty film is very weather-resistant and thus well suited for outdoor use.

Backlight film

Instead of the translucent adhesive film the backlight film can also be used. This polypropylene film is clamped into the light box and therefore does not require glue, making it very easy to replace. Thanks to the material specially developed for backlighting, the light is evenly diffused, and the light source is not visible. To protect the print, the film is printed in reverse on the back side with the graphic. This protects the print from scratches and abrasion, as well as UV rays. Please note that your light box must have the option for insertion or clamping for this specialty film to serve its purpose.

Magnetic film

The magnetic film is a high-quality PVC film with a magnetic back for application on magnetic surfaces. The film can be applied and removed flexibly. You can find the magnetic film printed with company addresses, logos, or graphics on refrigerators, magnetic whiteboards, and steel walls. For example, the magnetic film can be used for labeling iron storage shelves, where the sorting of stored items is occasionally changed, or for menus in restaurants that change from time to time thanks to its flexibility. The magnetic film can also be applied to cars and trucks, but no liability can be accepted for use while driving.

Adhesion film

Even without glue, the adhesion film works. This is a PVC film for application indoors and outdoors on very smooth surfaces. Due to the adhesion forces (Van der Waals bonds) between the film and the surface, it adheres without adhesive. To effectively utilize these forces, the contact area must be as large as possible. Since the adhesion film can be easily removed and re-hung, it is often used for reusable graphics, such as for promotional stands, trade fair stands, and seasonal motifs for summer and winter campaigns. On surfaces where adhesive films cannot be applied, the adhesion film offers a good alternative on appropriately smooth substrates.

Finishing

The magnetic and adhesion films are suitable for simple contour cutting. For example, circles, triangles, and arrows can be cut out and printed. The translucent film can also be cut into more complex shapes like letters and ornaments. These can be sent with a transfer film. The transfer film helps with the application of punched-out elements. When ordering with transfer film, a transfer film is applied to the motif, which has a stronger adhesion than the carrier paper and thus completely and without slipping releases the motif from the carrier paper.
For the translucent adhesive film, there is also the option of lamination. The laminate coating in matte or glossy protects the film from UV radiation as well as abrasion and scratches.

The digital printing process does not produce harmful emissions, making this process particularly environmentally friendly. Please keep this in mind when preparing your print data.
